From I-40 (Morganton):

Take Exit 105
Turn left onto Rt. Hwy. 18 South
Go 11miles (Look for Pine Mountain Resort Billboard -Citgo Station on Left).  Turn Right onto Sugar Loaf Rd. (sharp turn).  Take Sugar Loaf Rd. until it ends (follow PMR sign).  Turn left onto Old Hwy. 18.  Drive 2.8 miles (follow PMR sign).  Turn Right onto Wards Gap Rd.  Go 1.5 miles and turn Right into Pine Mountain Estates (~200yds past sharp curve).

From Charlotte:

Take I-85 South
Exit north on Hwy. 321
Go to Hwy 27 West to Hwy. 18
Take Hwy. 18 North 1.5 miles and follow the PMR directional signs.

From Asheville:

Take I-40 East to Exist 105.  Take Hwy. 18 South to Sugar Loaf Road and follow the PMR directional signs.

From Atlanta and Points South:

Take 85 North to Exit 96 which is located in Gaffney, South Carolina (you will cross the North Carolina border from Hwy. 18).

Turn Left from the exit. Make a Right onto Hwy. 18 North, continue about 50 minutes or 35 miles.  Drive thru the town of Shelby. At certain points, Hwy. 18 is named Fallston Road.

At the Citgo Station, turn left onto Sugarloaf Road.  Follow the Pine Mountain Resort signs and signs for South Mountain State Park.  At the BP station, turn Left onto Old Hwy. 18--although only about 2.8 miles, it will take 15 minutes as the road has many curves.

Turn Right on to Wards Gap, the Wards Gap street sign may be down, but there should be a Pine Mountain Resort sign. Drive 1.5 miles and turn Right into Pine Mountain Estates (200 yards past sharp turn).  There is a housing development and golf course.  Drive through the golf course and you will see the resort up on the hill to your left. After you arrive at the entrance, you will drive a couple of minutes before reaching the resort.
